So...we had a great weekend. It all started when....
we really wanted to give MIKE his Christmas present (as well as Mom LOL). So we drove down to Burley on Saturday afternoon...roads were a little crazy..but managable. We spent some time at Grandma's and with Lyle, Bonnie and Dana, and Darren, and Jana, and Sott, and Sherrie, and Matt and Matina and Jake and...I think that's it. LOL It was nice to be able to visit with everyone and Bonnie made Chicken Noodle Soup....YUUUUMMMMOOOOOOOO! Jeriah even had some. Then after that we went and had lunch with Dad-it was actually kinda fun just to chit chat with Dad. Then we went to Mom and Mikes. They opened their presents and we had lots of fun! After that we watched an all night marathon of NCIS-i love that show! Then Sunday comes and Matt wants to get to his Missionary Meeting so we pack up and leave about 11:00'ish, roads were GREAT...UNTIL...right after the junction to Salt Lake. Well, the wind was blowing REALLY hard and the car was swerving a little and I was really nervous...(Matt was driving because the car that we took was a rear wheel drive...and I don't do rear will drive...anyways)Matt reassured me it was just the wind and then all of a sudden...we were going backwards down the freeway and then into the median! It was a little scary...I feel stupid saying that we've done that before...so I was alright with it...but then I just started to cry because poor Jeriah, but of course he was fine and actually slept through the whole thing...go figure.
Well, we were soooo stuck that even our tires weren't touching the ground. INSANE. The scary part was that we were barely off the road, so we were afraid that someone would pull the same stunt and run into us. So we called Mike and he got his brother John and they left to come save us. (I feel dumb now because I just looked in Matt's wallet and saw that our insurance has an emergency roadside assistance # that we could have called...(sorry Mike)). Anyways, while Mike and his bro are coming to save us...I REALLy had to go to the bathroom...so, I waded out in the snow next to some sagebrush...and did my business while cars were passing left and right...it was great. Matt still can't believe I did it...but hey, when you gotta go...you gotta go. Then on my trek back, i just about froze to death. the drifts were so deep that I just kept falling back in the snow, so Matt had to get out of the car and get me. (Once again...I feel pretty dumb.) Then a plow truck stopped, he couldn't help us, and a van stopped from Washington...they couldn't help us. But you know what...it was totally the thought that counted..the mere fact that they stopped. Anywho, Mike and his brother get there and another truck stopped to help...we dug around the car a little bit and hooked up some chains to the red truck...but we ended up busting something off of our car and the poor truck just about slid into the median with us. So, we decided to abandon the car and we all hopped into Johns truck and they drove us to Pocatello, dropped us off and helped us get our blue car out of the garrage. WHAT A MESS! The fabulous part...besides the fact the John and Mike took a huge amount of time out of their day and drove in AWFUL wheather. The fabo part is that Jeriah was so good...he woke up shortly after the accident and just kept himself occupied, he really made a bad situation not quite so bad. When we transfered him from our car to the truck..the wind was blowing soooo hard and he LOVED it...he was just smiling, CRAZY CHILD!
Anyways, when Mike and John turned around to go back home they were getting ready to pass the area that our car was, and there was a tow truck pulling it out...so Mike ran across the median got in our car and drove it back to Burley. What a wild day.
And come to just find out...they closed the freeway. GO FIGURE!
It was amazing some of the drifts though...they blocked a full lane..incredible what mother nature can do.
Anyways...I'm totally thankful for Mike and John, they are offically our heros for the year. (And mom too...I know she soooo would have come if she wasn't watching Braxton.)!! THANK YOU and WE LOVE YOU!

Gosh! I am glad you guys are okay. You crack me up though. I too can't believe that you would "do your thing" right there in front of all those cars. ha ha! too funny!!
What's up with that map on the right of your blog? I was just wondering.
This is the funniest story I have read all week!!!
The map on the side of my blog shows where people that have looked at my blog live...so if Charmaine was to look at my blog a star would be in Florida...
